The
Emmaus community provides prayer support for the entire Walk, the pilgrims,
and the team by organizing and filling a 72 Hour Prayer Vigil. Remember
how your Walk was supported by prayer? The prayer vigils posted during
a Walk give the pilgrims a tangible sign of the loving support of many
on their behalf, especially when they see the names of persons who have
pledged to interrupt their schedules to get up at various hours of the
night to pray for them. We are called to servanthood in the role of praying
for our Brothers and Sisters on a Walk. Being a part of the 72 Hour Prayer
Vigil is a behind the scene support role but never the less a very important
role.
Beginning with the Fall 2011 walks we will be using IMS to collect the
sign ups for the prayer charts. During each weekend there are 148 half
hour slots. If an e-mail is provided when you sign up you will get an
e-mail reminder shortly before the walk dates. This provides the ability
for us to e-mail you a reminder shortly before the walk and easily print
out a copy of the name and location for each timeslot for presenting
to the pilgrims in the conference room during the walk.
Sign
up for the prayer chart and then click on the IMS “Prayer
Vigils” link (see link in red box in the screen to the right)
If this is your first time signing up, the following instructions should
be printed and refered to as needed during the sign up process.
